The CBS curse

What is it about these people? First there was Rathergate, then the “missing” explosives that weren’t, and now Walter Cronkite is making paranoid conspiracy-monger noises:
So now the question is basically right now, how will [the Osama bin Ladin tape] affect the election? And I have a feeling that it could tilt the election a bit. In fact, I’m a little inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing.
Notice in the transcript, that brain-dead King does not call Cronkite on this, or even seem to notice it.
(via Tim Blair, who thinks it could be true.)

Not sorry to burst your bubble but…the explosives are still missing.
The 250tons that got destroyed weren’t even part of the 300+ ton that is unaccounted for.
so much for making the world a safer place.

While we’re bursting bubbles, pk, I’ll remind you the IAEA noticed one of the two batches of high explosive was missing back in January 2003, and the other turned out to be improperly sealed – while the inspectors had requested its destruction back in 1995.
