The Times reports that chocolate tastings are the newest rage among New York foodies.
Although I draw the line at wasabi-flavored chocolate (I kid not), I am intrigued by Antica Dolceria Bonajuto’s Aztec-style xocolatl, flavored with chili. Grimace if you will, but the first time you taste the combination of chocolate and hot chili, you’ll wonder why you ever thought it strange. Add a dash of chili powder to your next cup of hot cocoa if you doubt it. You’ll thank me, I promise.
I had some fun with the idea of a chocolate elite a few months ago, here.
