The voters for the 2003 NL MVP award bowed to the obvious: three-fourths of a season of Barry Bonds is better to have than a full season from any other baseball player on the planet. Not bad, for a guy who will be turning 40 next July.
Bonds won his sixth MVP award going away, in contrast to the AL winner Alex Rodriguez, who won his first MVP award in a close and somewhat controversial vote.
